Sanitation Progress in Bangladesh

Remarkable achievements with remaining challenges in safe sanitation. Over the past decade, significant progress has been made in expanding access to safe sanitation, improving public health, and reducing the spread of waterborne diseases. Communities have benefited from modern infrastructure, awareness programs, and sustainable sanitation technologies that have transformed living conditions. However, challenges remain—particularly in rural and underserved areas—where inadequate facilities, limited funding, and gaps in behavioral change continue to hinder universal access. Addressing these issues requires not only continued investment but also community engagement, innovative solutions, and strong policy support to ensure that safe sanitation becomes a reality for all.
